Botox® Injections in Vineland & Elmer, NJ

Dynamic wrinkles are wrinkles that are caused by repeated muscle movements, such as frowning, squinting, and brow furrowing. BOTOX injections help to reduce these wrinkles by preventing the muscles from moving. As the BOTOX begins to take effect, the wrinkles gradually soften and then disappear, resulting in a more youthful, rejuvenated appearance. The areas of the face that are most commonly treated with BOTOX are between the eyebrows, the forehead lines, and crow’s feet.

How It Works

BOTOX, which is medically known as Botulinum Toxin Type A, is an injectable compound that disrupts the release of a chemical called acetylcholine in the nerve cells within the muscles beneath the skin. Acetylcholine triggers a muscle contraction that creates wrinkles. BOTOX injections paralyze the muscle and prevent the wrinkles from forming.

What to Expect

The full results of BOTOX treatment become apparent within one week of treatment and last for at least three months. If you want to maintain the results, you have to plan for additional treatments. BOTOX treatments can reduce facial wrinkles by up to 80 percent and are appropriate for patients between ages 35 and 60.

The BOTOX procedure is quick and simple. Many patients at the Skin Care Center receive BOTOX treatments during their lunch hour. No anesthesia is needed, although a numbing cream may be applied to the treatment area to ease discomfort. The procedure generally takes around 20 minutes.
