Juvederm is an injectable filler with a smooth consistency that’s made with hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the skin. Hyaluronic acid helps to hydrate your skin and add volume. Dr. Warmuth injects Juvederm into the skin to produce natural-looking results. Everyone will comment on how great you look but no one will be able to pinpoint exactly why!
Areas that are commonly treated with Juvederm include the folds between your cheeks and nose and the so-called marionette lines that form between your nose and the outer corners of your mouth. Juvederm is also effective in enhancing lip volume and reshaping cheek contours.
How It Works
Juvederm is injected into the subsurface skin layer of your face with a syringe. Juvederm adds volume to the wrinkles and folds and lifts the skin in the treatment area. Because of its smooth consistency, Juvederm provides a smoother, more natural-looking appearance than other dermal fillers. The results of treatment with Juvederm last for six to nine months, but could last even longer if you undergo a follow-up treatment a few weeks after the first treatment.
What to Expect
Juvederm is effective in treating moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Treatment with Juvederm improves your skin’s elasticity and makes your skin look smooth and supple. Juvederm rarely causes side effects, but some reported side effects include redness, pain, and tenderness. When these side effects occur, they typically subside within a few days.
