Rejuvenation Procedure: Restylane® in Vineland & Elmer, NJ

Restylane is an injectable filler that is used to sculpt the lips, smooth wrinkles, and improve other facial features. Restylane is particularly effective for treating wrinkles around the mouth and nose. The effects of Restylane typically last for six months or more.

How It Works

Restylane is a clear liquid gel made of non-animal-based hyaluronic acid. Restylane is injected into the skin with a thin needle and restores the natural volumes underneath wrinkles, lifting them up and smoothing them out as a result.

The hyaluronic acid in Restylane adheres to the skin. The water contained in the acid helps to retain volume under the surface of the skin. The acid is like a magnet for water, helping to preserve the renewed volume of the skin. The results of treatment with Restylane are visible immediately and the procedure leaves no marks or scars.

What to Expect

Restylane injections are performed on an outpatient basis with local anesthesia and can take anywhere from a few minutes to 30 minutes to perform. Patients can return home shortly after the procedure but are advised to stay out of the sun. There may be some swelling in the treatment area, but it should subside within two to three days.

Common side effects of treatment with Restylane include headache, redness, pain at the injection site, and nausea. Restylane reduces wrinkles by about 80 percent, but it is a temporary solution that requires follow-up treatments in order to maintain the results.
