How It Works
During the tumescent liposuction procedure, a special liquid anesthetic is used to saturate the fat. The fat is then dislodged and removed through a small hollow tube known as a cannula. Dr. Warmuth removes fat in target areas to sculpt and slim the body. The amount of fat that is removed is limited for safety reasons, however.
What to Expect
You will experience some swelling and bruising for a few days following the procedure. When the swelling subsides, you will be able to appreciate the full results of treatment. Recovery generally takes up to a week.
The local anesthetic that is injected into the tissue remains for 24 hours following the procedure, helping to minimize post-operative pain. You are encouraged to walk after the procedure to speed the healing process. You will be able to return to a desk job within a few days, and physical exercise can be resumed three to seven days after the procedure.
